Bandits Baseball - New Committee for Season 2009/10

After another successful season in 2008/09 for both juniors and seniors, the Bandits Baseball Club will look to consolidate the hard work and achievements from last year, and continue to build in both success on and off the field, as well as increase player and supporter numbers. Thanks to all those that attended the AGM, took the opportunity to ask questions and made their vote count. We have several positions which still require filling, so if you have ever thought about wanting to help out, or had some ideas you would like to implement, now is the time to take an active role in the Club.

We are looking for a person to take on the role of Juniors Vice President, a position which provides an opportunity to shape the way Bandits look after our junior players, and develop strategies and relationships to secure our future.

Bandits are also looking a person to take on the role of the Umpiring Coordinator. This position requires someone to ensure that we have sufficient Club members umpiring our assigned home games for juniors and lower grades. Further information can be provided by Steve Berg or Jay Spindler.

Two Bandits in Australian Team

Two Bandits Named in Australian Team World Baseball Classic 2009 After a succesful Claxton Sheild tournament, and impressive performances in lead-up games, two of Bandits' own players have made the squad for the final cut into the Australian Baseball Team to take on the best players on the planet, at the 2009 World Baseball Classic in March. Nick Kimpton and Michael Collins, who have both risen through the Bandits Club from juniors to A grade players, and both of whom were signed by the Anaheim Angels organisation to MLB contracts, have won coveted spots in the Australian team to take on such giants as Cuba, Japan, Korea, Canada and the USA.
